  • ULTRASONIC SCALING – The ultrasonic scaler is an instrument that emits strong vibration. This strong vibration is used to breakdown the plaque or the dental calculus built up in the teeth and the gum. The shockwaves disrupt the bacterial waves.

  • SUBGINGIVAL SCALING – Subgingival scaling involves the removal of subgingival calculus from the tooth surface. This can be from the enamel (crown) or from the root cementum surface, in which case it is termed root planing. Subgingival curettage or root planing can be closed or open.

  • GINGIVAL DEPIGMENTATION – Gum depigmentation, also known as gum bleaching, is a procedure used in cosmetic dentistry to lighten or remove black spots or patches on the gums consisting of melanin.

  • Teeth whitening is the process of using bleach or other materials to make teeth look whiter. The materials remove stains or other discoloration from the tooth surface. Teeth are whitened to remove the effects of coffee, cigarettes, and other substances that permanently stain or discolor teeth. Medications such as antibiotics like tetracycline may discolor teeth. Fluorosis, a condition caused by absorbing too much fluoride, could affect tooth color. Furthermore, aging also causes teeth to loose their bright color.

  • GINGIVECTOMY – Gingivectomy is surgery to remove excess or overgrown gum tissue (gingiva). Periodontists (gum specialists) use gingivectomy to treat some forms of periodontal (gum) disease. Gingivectomy is also a common cosmetic dentistry procedure used to fix a “gummy smile”.

  • BLEACHING – Bleaching is essentially an oxidation reaction where the bleach (hydrogen peroxide) oxidizes the double bond in tooth stains (chromogen), causing the chromogen to change its chemical structure. As a result, it becomes a lighter-colored compound and gives the effect of increased whiteness.
